Volunteer Committees
Marshals
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring players safe and easy access from hole to hole and to signal the gallery for quiet as players address the ball to make their shot
- Fairway ball spotting, measuring drives and signaling to avoid balls from being lost
- Marshals are assigned to all 18 holes to insure proper coverage, with four to six marshals per hole
- A great opportunity for Groups, golf courses, or friends to be represented on a hole
Volunteer Requirements
- Ability to walk short and long distances, ability to stand for a period of time

Walking Scoring
Responsibilities:
- Volunteer walks with a group of participants and electronically records the shots of each player entering it into the shotlink system after each hole
Volunteer Requirements
- Volunteer walks with a group of participants and electronically records the shots of each player entering it into the shotlink system after each hole
- Volunteers should be comfortable with a handheld tech device
- Golf knowledge is necessary
- Volunteers must walk 18 holes at a good pace, in all kinds of weather and conditions
- Volunteers must attend the tournament training class or make arrangements to be trained by the Walking Scorer Chairperson
Shifts:
- Thursday, July 8th to Sunday, July 11th - Georgian Bay Club
- Thursday, July 8th to Friday, July 9th - The Raven at Lora Bay
Admissions & On-Site Parking
Responsibilities:
- Volunteers in this committee will serve as greeters & ambassadors for the tournament as spectators enter the tournament grounds
- On site ticket sales during the tournament
- Direct onsite parking lots
Shifts:
- Wednesday, July 7th to Sunday, July 11th - Georgian Bay Club
- Thursday, July 8th to Friday, July 9th - The Raven at Lora Bay
Cart Shuttles
Responsibilities:
- Cart & Radio distribution
- Cart charging, cleaning and collection each day
- Shuttle participants to and from the parking lot and practice range
- Assist with Shuttling volunteers onto the course as required
- Distribution & restocking of on-course items
Volunteer Requirements
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to drive golf carts
- Volunteers under 18 will assist in a non-driving capacity
Shifts:
- Thursday, July 8th to Sunday, July 11th - Georgian Bay Club
- Thursday, July 8th to Friday, July 9th - The Raven at Lora Bay
Registration & Hospitality
Responsibilities:
- Register Nationwide tour professionals and amateur participants
- Assist with amateur gift bag assembly prior to the tournament
- Staff information and hospitality desk at the golf courses (Thursday to Sunday)
Volunteer Requirements
- Volunteers must commit to Monday to Wednesday for Registration and/or Thursday to Sunday.
Shifts:
- Monday, July 5th to Sunday, July 11th
Television
Responsibilities:
- Assist television crews on site with the coverage of the event
- Carrying cameras and television equipment, shuttling camera operators, walking with particular groups and other duties and insuring proper television coverage of the event for the Golf Channel
Volunteer Requirements
- Physically capable of carrying a 6 ft. microphone & walking the course
Shifts:
- Thursday, July 8th - Sunday, July 11th - Georgian Bay Club
Set-Up & Operations
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the set-up & tear down of the overall golf event
- Scoreboard and leaderboard set-up & take down
- Assist with the placement of fencing, roping and other logistics
Volunteer Requirements
- Highly active volunteer position, heavy lifting is required, knowledge of heavy equipment and construction skills would be welcomed
Shifts:
- Monday, July 5th to Monday, July 12th
- A few volunteers are required on the weekend prior to assist with set-up
Practice Range
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and staff the practice range as well as the chipping and putting areas
- Re-distribute the golf balls, place, rotate and take down signs as required
Volunteer Requirements
- This position requires you to be on your feet
Shifts:
- Thursday, July 8th to Sunday, July 11th - Georgian Bay Club
- Thursday, July 8th to Friday, July 9th - The Raven at Lora Bay
Scoring
Responsibilities:
- Scoring Central - Monitoring scores called into Scoring Central
- Scoring Tents (Finishing Tents) verify scorecards of players following completion of play
Volunteer Requirements
- Golf knowledge is preferred
- Good math skills required
- Computer experience
Shifts:
- Thursday, July 8th to Sunday, July 11th - Georgian Bay Club
- Thursday, July 8th to Friday, July 9th - The Raven at Lora Bay
Standard Bearers
Responsibilities:
- Volunteers walk and carry a sign for 18 holes in all types of weather conditions
Volunteer Requirements
- The signs weigh approximately 10 - 15 pounds
Shifts:
- Thursday, July 8th to Sunday, July 11th - Georgian Bay Club
- Thursday, July 8th to Friday, July 9th - The Raven at Lora Bay
Transportation
Responsibilities:
- Committee members receive inventory and control of the courtesy cars, meet players, officials and designated guests at the private airport (Collingwood) and assist them with their transportation needs
Volunteer Requirements
- Volunteers must be at least 25 years of age to serve on this committee
- Volunteers must be licensed drivers
Shifts:
- Tuesday, July 6th to Sunday, July 11th
- Majority of shifts are required Tuesday to Saturday
Volunteer Services
Responsibilities:
- Uniform distribution prior to the tournament
- Meet, greet and direct volunteers to check-in areas
- Set-up tables, chairs and decorate the volunteer tent
- Service the volunteer tent including stocking water & snacks
Shifts:
- July 5th to 7th (distribute uniforms etc.) limited staff
- Thursday, July 8th to Sunday, July 11th - Georgian Bay Club
- Thursday, July 8th to Friday, July 9th - The Raven at Lora Bay
Caddies
Responsibilities:
- Caddies are assigned to a specific amateur or professional golfer and carries his/her bag for the entire round(s).
- Caddies will be provided with a tournament hat and drinks/meals only.
Volunteer Requirements
- Volunteers must be 16 or older and able to carry a 25 to 50 pound bag for 18 holes
- Golf etiquette is necessary
- Volunteers must walk 18 holes at a good pace, in all kinds of weather and conditions
Shifts:
- Shift times are based on Tee Times and will be assigned by the caddy master
- Caddies are required for Thursday, July 8th to Friday, July 9th with a possibility of caddying for the final rounds on Saturday and Sunday at The Georgian Bay Club
- Caddies may be asked to caddy for a practice round from Monday, July 5 to Wednesday, July 7th
- NOTE: Caddies will be assigned at the discretion of the Caddy Master
- A caddy clinic will be held by the caddy master to review tournament etiquette.
