They battled. They battled for each other. There were encouraging signs from this new group of men. Back to back games on the road isn’t easy. Buffalo can turn it up a notch when they need to and they did. There were chances a plenty to get into this game in the first and second periods but the power play went dry.  I won’t remember the score. I will remember the edge that this team brought all night.

I think we are all anxious to see if the energy hangover remains for tonight’s game in Buffalo. Bryz is in goal. Telly is not. Check out the rest of the lineup questions and take a trip down memory lane to the old “Aud” here in Buffalo with the coach.  You remember goal number 77, don’t you???

This is going to be like this for the rest of the season! Strap in.  Here it comes….one or two losses can drop you all the way out of the playoffs in the blink of an eye. Winning is all that matters. Scoreboard watching will drive you insane.

The Buffalo Sabres did  what they have been doing since they have been hurt by injuries to their blue line. They give you the perimeter and take away the center of the ice. But that doesn’t explain or account for the lack of execution on the power play. It has been painful to watch for the last few games.

Frankly, it has cost them the last two games. It won’t get any easier with back to back games out on the road to Nashville and Detroit this week. But listen to what the coach had to say. He is still encouraged by
the overall effiort.

The first word was 4 to 8 weeks, but that changed this morning.  Listen in on head coach Wayne Gretzky as he discusses that and tonight’s game with the high flying Buffalo Sabres at Jobing.com Arena.
